Thinking outside the box, staying away from the standard resume format, engaging the reader with something cool\u2014any one of these can make your application shine. Any selection process can make us feel vulnerable and insecure, particularly when confronted with tough or uncaring decision-makers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not here to make people’s lives more difficult\u2014quite the opposite. Do advisors have any tips in terms of managing your admissions process?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe always recommend submitting the entrance exam and the Kira online assessment test early, as they are the most time-consuming items we require. MARCOM programs are extremely popular and classes can fill up quite quickly, so applying early and advancing soon can be key to securing a place,\u201d says Joey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can a candidate shine and demonstrate they\u2019re the best fit for the program? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the case of MARCOM candidates, the ideal candidate will vary depending on the program. For the Master in Digital Marketing & Analytics<\/a> or the Master in Market Research & Consumer Behavior<\/a>, we\u2019re always on the lookout for candidates who demonstrate good quantitative and analytical skills,\u201d explains Jorge, the junior manager for Business Specialized Programs at IE Business School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, there are abilities that are transversal to any ideal candidate of a MARCOM program.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re searching for highly motivated students who can contribute their unique lived experiences to IE Business School\u2019s diverse learning environment. But where can I show these skills in my application?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As someone whose job it is to examine the detail of the submitted material, Joey gives us his take: \u201cSome key parts of the application where the candidate\u2019s drive and passion for the subject can come through are the letters of recommendation and the composition. We look at hundreds of applications throughout the year, but reading an inspiring essay, watching a video where the candidate shows their creativity or being impressed by the endorsement of an objective referee is something that can really help secure your admission.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what can an admitted candidate to a MARCOM program expect from their colleagues? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Jorge explains that, \u201cIn the 21st<\/sup> century, marketers have unprecedented tools to really understand potential customers. But IE Business School graduates will face a very competitive environment once they return to the labor market.” We therefore need to select candidates who not only grasp market insights, but will also be able to learn to use technology to persuade customers of the unique value proposition of the product or service they\u2019re trying to sell.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
