Build a global experience. Studying at IE University places you within a unique international environment that fosters a global mindset. In addition, you will also study for at least one semester abroad at one of our partner institutions around the world.

You will benefit from IE University’s world-ranked experience in management and business, and acquire key skills sought after by companies that need professionals with a solid understanding of global affairs, as well as the ability to work in corporate settings, and manage projects and policies at the highest levels.

 

Approach. Our hands-on program simulates real-life challenges and will train you in areas such as negotiation, strategy, and public speaking. You will hear directly from key figures in business, politics, and global affairs, while internships and other hands-on projects will round out your practical experience and build your international network.

 

Make a Difference. During the program, you will learn how to lead initiatives that add value to society, and you will be able to have a social impact, managing projects with nonprofit organizations in international settings. In the IEU Start-Up Lab, you will also learn how to successfully launch your own business or nonprofit.

You can study the Dual Degree in Business Administration + International Relations both in Segovia and Madrid. If you choose to start your studies in Madrid you will study all five years in Madrid. On the other hand, if you choose to start your studies in Segovia, then you will study the first two years in Segovia and the last three years in Madrid.

During this first year, you will start studying the fundamental concepts of business administration and international relations. You will take courses such as Introduction to Political Science, History of International Relations, and Contemporary Global Issues, which will give you a broad overview of global affairs and how international relations shape the world. During this first year you will also go through introductory courses like Organizational Management, Introduction to Marketing, Cost Accounting, and Introduction to IT. This is a great year to join an IE Lab or do your first internship and start gaining work experience.

In your second year, you will go deeper into both business administration and international relations courses to start developing an integrated vision of how these fields complement each other and how you can harness both to work towards bringing solutions to global challenges. You will take advanced courses in international affairs like Development of International Systems, Comparative Politics, and Public Opinion & Political Communication.

 

You will also start seeing more complex and specific business classes like Management Control, Introduction to Economics, Econometrics, Accounting for Decision Making, and Market Research. During this second year you can also choose to join an IEU Lab or do an internship.

You are already halfway through! In this third year, you will keep working towards achieving an integrated vision between business and international relations. You will learn in depth how international relations and business can work together in developing a better understanding of international organizations and global corporations.

 

You will keep advancing on the path to becoming a successful business professional by studying Macroeconomics, Entrepreneurship, and Consumer Behavior. You will also go through international relations courses to achieve a broader perspective. To that end, you will be studying the European Union and subjects such as Foreign Policy, International Political Economy, and understanding the role that international law plays in global affairs.

The classes that comprise the fourth year will teach you the necessary skills to become a successful professional in an international setting. During this last year, you will have to work on and deliver both the BBA and International Relations final projects.
