Vera Prohaska

About me

My name is Vera Prohaska and I’m a student of the Bachelor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. I’m originally from Serbia but was born and raised in Vienna, Austria, where I’ve lived ever since. Nonetheless, I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world with my family, visiting every continent at least once. In my free time, I love to paint, exercise, play golf, cook and read.

Vera Prohaska - Student Story Bachelor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence | IE University

"I appreciate the strong sense of community that IE University upholds through endless extracurricular activities such as sports teams, labs and clubs."

Vera Prohaska

Growing up speaking four languages at home, attending international schools (where over 60 nationalities were represented), and traveling the world with her family, Vera Prohaska can’t imagine attending any school other than IE University. While cultural diversity is incredibly important to her, Vera’s decision to study here was swayed by the uniqueness of her program: an education in computer science with a focus on AI, all immersed in a business-minded culture. Not only did the program feel extremely relevant for Vera, but it also piqued her interest like no other university or program could.

So far, Vera is enjoying her in-person classes, which are part of the blended learning methodology IE University continues to offer students throughout the global crisis. The ambitious young student says she likes the mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning, since it gives her the opportunity to study from home and organize her workload according to her busy personal schedule.

Because of course, Vera isn’t just here for academia. With an interest in many hobbies—painting, reading, cooking, golfing, and the list goes on—she appreciates the strong sense of community that IE University upholds through endless extracurricular activities such as sports teams, labs and clubs. Just weeks after arriving in Segovia, Vera has already attended tennis tryouts and is counting down the days until the labs start.

Vera’s not sure what the future holds for her professionally. She does know, however, that her career will be something related to IT and business—and that she’ll have fun doing it.
