The french architect Hala Wardé will give a lecture today at IE University on architecture as a vehicle of culture and the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum project (UAE), that she is being managing since its launch in 2007.

Hala Wardé holds an architectural degree from the ESA School in Paris where she studied with Paul Virilio in 1986/89 and with Jean Nouvel in 1987. She has been working for more than 20 years with Jean Nouvel in the various structures of his office, during which time she gradually became responsible for several projects in France and abroad.

Hala Wardé became a Partner at AJN in 1999 and was involved in major projects throughout Europe, the Far East, the Middle East and the USA.

In 2008, Hala Wardé established HW architecture in partnership with AJN. She was recently in charge of the One New Change office and retail building in London, delivered in 2010, and of the hotel, apartments, retail and entertainment centre of the Landmark project in the city centre of Beirut.

Hala Wardé is currently working on the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi which she has been leading and overseeing since its inception in 2007.

This lecture is part of the lecture series entitled Past / Future, organized by IE University´s School of Architecture and Design and coordinated by Professor Laura Martinez de Guereñu.
