The IE Foundation Humanities Awards ceremony took place last September 19th in the campus of IE University in Segovia.  The categories of poetry, short story and short essay in Spanish and English, video and photography were awarded. For the fourth year running, the awards has attracted more than 300 students, graduates and, for the first time, IE staff, who have submitted more than 800 works.

IE Foundation’s Humanities Awards highlights the humanist vision of IE students, graduates and IE University employees, their critical thinking and their ability to find another voice and another vision of reality. The IE Humanities Center, which specializes in research and teaching in the Humanities, makes these awards as part of its vision of the world of the Humanities, which is central to the identity of IE University.

“Four years ago we launched the first edition of the IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities in order to strengthen the importance of Humanities at IE University, one of our key values. During these 4 years we have been increasing the number of participants” says Victoria Gimeno, Director of the IE Foundation Awards in Humanities. “Also, the number of works has increased exponentially going from 102 in the first edition to more that 800 in this last one. We are very grateful for the generosity of the participants of sharing their stories and characters with us as well as allowing us to live other realities and fly over other landscapes with their gaze. We will continue working so that our community feels the humanities and continues to participate in future editions, expressing themselves and getting emotional,” adds Victoria.

“The Humanities, along with technological immersion, diversity and an entrepreneurial mindset are part of our identity.”

“The Humanities, along with technological immersion, diversity and an entrepreneurial mindset are part of our identity and from the IE Foundation we work to promote these values. For us it is a pleasure to support the Humanities Awards and reward our students and alumni for their literary and audiovisual works,” says Carlos Mas, Vice President of the IE Foundation.
