IE hosts in both its centers in Segovia and Madrid the library managers of the most important European business schools

 

IE Library hosts the meeting of the continental part of the European Business School Librarian’s Group (EBSLG) 

Library managers for top European business schools will meet at IE University’s Segovia Campus and IE headquarters in Madrid for the encounter of the continental section of the European Business School Librarian’s Group (EBSLG) from March 12th to March 14th. The goal is to share best practices related to new communication forms on libraries, the implementation of new services and technologies to make better the user experience and analyze common problems and challenges. 

ESBLG is a group made up from professionals that looks to promote a forum for the libraries of the top business schools. It is divided in regional sections; the continental group – which IE University’s Library belongs to – meets every year in March in different places. In this occasion, the Santa Cruz la Real Campus in Segovia, and the center in Madrid, were chosen for this important European encounter in which more than 15 library managers will exchange experiences and synergies. 

Among the participants, Indian professor Dinesh K. Gupta comes to attention. Professor in Library and Information Sciences, he is also Director for Research and Development of the Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University (Kota Rajasthan) y Member of IFLA. He is considered one of the most recognized experts in this subject. 

The participants will make the most of their visit to Spain visiting some of its more iconic monuments such as the Military General Archive – oldest Armed Forces Archive, in the Alcázar of Segovia – the Casa de la Moneda in Segovia, and the Library of San Lorenzo de El Escorial or the Museo del Prado. 

The activities will begin on Wednesday, march 12th at 18h00 with a welcome cocktail and a guided tour of IE University facilities and its Library. On the next day, the program will take part in Segovia before passing to Madrid allowing the participants to get to know IE Business School Library.
