IE University announces the finalists for the 7th Asian Economic Journalism Awards

IE University has shortlisted the 10 finalists for its 7th Asian Economic Journalism Awards, organised this year with the patronage of CAF, the Latin American development bank, and the support of Iberia, Cinco Días, CNN en español and Casa de América. Over 100 articles, interviews, reports and other news formats released in over 30 publications throughout the Asian region were submitted to IE University this year.

The finalists this year come from Japan, China, India, the Philippines, South Korea and Singapore, countries where the financial press is constantly analysing the issues and challenges of the global economy, as well as the interaction with the European and Latin American business world.

The awards ceremony will be held in autumn 2021 in a hybrid event at IE Tower, IE University's new vertical, technological and sustainable headquarters in Madrid.

The ten journalists shortlisted for the seventh Asian Economic Journalism Awards are:

• Wataru Suzuki, SoftBank’s network of startups and financial entanglements, Nikkei Asian Review, Japan.
• Vandana Vats, Private equity funding is recoding the DNA of tech startups, The Ken, India.
• Jun Ji-hye, Are new leaders up to the task? The Korea Times, South Korea.
• Wu Chen, Latin America, Another Lost Decade, The Economic Observer, China.
• Rey Elbo, What’s the best employee feedback mechanism? BusinessWorld, Philippines.
• Rachel Mui, Women entrepreneurs in Singapore battle to win equal slice of funding pie, The Business Times, Singapore.
• Haroon Janjua, A growing business in China, South China Morning Post, China Hong Kong.
• Ajai Sreevatsan, How big tech reset will impact India, The Mint, India.
