IE University inaugurates a modern lounge for its students

IE University inaugurated today a new social space for students studying in the main campus of Santa Cruz la Real in Segovia city: The Student Hub.

Located right next to the central cloister of the main building, the lounge was mainly designed for the extracurricular activities of IE undergraduate students, where they can read, study, work in groups, celebrate social gatherings, club meetings and, in general, as a rest area between class sessions.   In addition to other activities offered there by the student offices (known as the Student Life offices) the new area can also be used by the student government to hold their own events.

The lounge, which is equipped with plasma televisions, stands out thanks to its unique design focused almost entirely in the use of wood, and as a result attempts to create a cozy atmosphere for study and play.   It was inaugurated by the university rector, Dr. Salvador Carmona and by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Antonio de Castro with words and wishes that the students make the most use out of this new addition to the campus, created for the improvement of academic life and university ambiance.   The opening act was accompanied by live music provided by students from the IEU Music Club and a prize was given to 5th year architecture student Jaime Pagés, winner of the naming contest of this space.
