Student Life

Diverse community, diverse interests, unlimited opportunities!

Before your arrival...

  • Prepare for departure!

If your country is not an EU member nor a signatory of the European Economic Zone Agreement with you will most likely require a study visa in order to enter Spain.

Depending on your country of origin, Consulates and Embassies might request several personal documents. We advise you to contact the local offices directly and ask about these requirements.

Get familiarized with all the city services available near your new home and make sure to select them prior to your arrival.

  • Orientation Week!

The Student Office department warmly welcomes students as they arrive to their new city of residence during a two-week celebration that we like to call: Orientation Week.

The Orientation Week is divided into two different stages where we celebrate our newcomers’ arrival through a series of integrative and informative activities. We strongly encourage all newcomers to attend.

During the first week, students may enroll to workshops and leisure activities (in order to better adapt to the IEU environment), as well as festive activities (in order to meet new peers). During the second week, students will attend a series of informative sessions related to academics and extracurricular activities.

If you are new to the IEU family, stay tuned to our Website on February which is the time of the year where we officially publish the Orientation Week Calendar.

A restless community!

Community events, leisure activities, musical evenings and more…

  • Things you
    need to know!

Through the course of your stay at IEU you will most certainly receive advice and information from Student Office staff members in order to resolve questions ranging from accommodation options to international mobility, health and wellbeing and extracurricular activities.

Within the wide scope of subjects that the Student Office can help you with lays one that is ever more recurring and pressing for students: enrolling to activities (sports and extracurricular) and launching initiatives. The IEU Student Life Department is here to help provide support on these grounds.

  • About
    Student Life

Student Life is one of the three sub-departments of the Student Office, which at its core, deals with student affairs as the principal extra-academic support system of our entire student community.

As our students arrive to IEU, we provide them with assistance to find their way around campus and the city, share resources and tips for living arrangements, opening bank accounts and information about other basic services.

Through the rest of your stay at IEU, you’ll find that Student Life is particularly concerned with our student body’s overall university experience. For this very reason, it is both our duty and pleasure to help further develop the community spirit of IE University, as well as help promote and launch extracurricular initiatives that nurture our students’ extra-academic interests and hobbies.

  • What does
    Student Life do?

We accompany, and grow alongside our students from the moment they first arrive at IE University up until they graduate.

During freshman year, we help Students understand how to better get around their new environment, where to hire basic services, whom to contact in case of emergencies, how to affiliate to health insurance providers as well as how and where to address other important needs.

As Students advance their journey at IEU, we provide support to pursue, develop, launch and promote any and all extracurricular initiatives considered relevant to our community. Such initiatives include a wide variety of activities such as conferences, competitions, tournaments, social causes, campaigns, workshops and more.

  • Who does Student Life work with?

We work with the students, and for the students. Therefore, any individual student can come to us with questions on living arrangements and services in the city, their environment, or regarding our campus and activities. We also encourage students to come to us with cool ideas and initiatives that they need support for.

Clubs often hold a very tight relationship with us, as we often help them organize their activities, communicate and promote their causes within our student community and, occasionally, help fund such initiatives.

Though students are the core of all our efforts, we also work alongside the school administration and our different degree directors; they often provide relevant information on extra-academic interests for our students.

All students enrolled in IEU can come to us whenever they see fit. This includes incoming exchange and transfer students. Our students’ parents can also feel free to contact us here.
