BUILD YOUR PATH TO SUCCESS
Become an expert in human behavior
The main areas that comprise behavioral science are psychology (cognitive, social and affective psychology), ethology, and neuroscience. Through the study and combination of these areas you will learn how to analyze and understand human conduct, and you will be able to change and influence behaviors in people, organizations, and societies.
Build a multidisciplinary profile
From a content perspective, you will study a wide range of disciplines that merge behavioral and social sciences like sociology, ethnography, psychology, ethology, behavioral economics, neuroscience and anthropology. And from a methodological perspective, you will learn the tools, both quantitative and qualitative, needed to analyze and model data to understand, predict and influence human behavior.
Impact organizations and society
Study human conduct and the human brain in-depth in order to understand people and the social systems in which they interact and live. These systems are communities, families, companies, and organizations, among others. Through this program, you will develop the skills needed to have an impact in these social systems by applying your understanding of how people behave and think.
Study in a unique format
Year one is a foundation year, in which you will learn the fundamentals of behavioral science, the basic concepts of social and data science, and how these disciplines complement each other. During years two and three, you will develop deep analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, that will allow you to study human conduct in-depth. During year four, you will apply everything you have learned in diverse sectors, like consumer goods, energy, and healthcare, to real-life scenarios.
EARN A FULLY ACCREDITED DEGREE
The Bachelor in Behavioral Science is fully compliant with the Bologna Process and is accredited by the Spanish government and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
LEARN THROUGH A MULTIDISCIPLINARY AND APPLIED APPROACH
You will study diverse yet interconnected disciplines that will help you explore and understand human behavior from different perspectives. You will learn how to connect tools and concepts from diverse scientific fields to play a leading role in the complex modern reality that surrounds humans and societies. In this program, you will study these disciplines and apply them to real, concrete cases.
MAKE AN IMPACT ON SOCIETY
Using a hands-on approach to education, this program will help you develop the skills you need to explore, gather, and analyze information surrounding the problems and situations that individuals and groups face. Here, you will learn how to play a key role in decision-making processes by providing insightful conclusions and ideas to improve future corporate and organizational strategies.

THREE KEY AREAS OF BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE AT IE UNIVERSITY
You'll learn about the behavior of people as individuals, in groups, and more broadly in social contexts such as markets, organizations, and society as a whole. The program will give you a broad multidisciplinary perspective on behavior that combines biology, psychology, anthropology, economics, political science, sociology and demography – into an integrated whole. How do genetics affect behavior, and what are the neuroscientific bases of behavior? What do we know about the science of how people think, feel, communicate, and act? How is individual behavior influenced when people are in groups and social situations? How can we understand the behavioral dynamics of groups? How is behavior shaped by the culture within an organization, social unit, or society as a whole? How can we think about and understand behavior in aggregate in a market, or an economy or society?
In addition to learning the fundamentals and latest scientific knowledge about behavior, in the Bachelor in Behavioral Science you will also build a toolbox of practical techniques that will allow you to study people to find insights on your own. You'll learn, for example: to design and conduct behavioral experiments; how to observe people in real-world contexts such as shopping in stores, using products in their homes, navigating websites, or working in teams within a company; how to conduct small and large-scale surveys and polls, for example to understand voters' intentions and citizen preferences; how to use eye-tracking technology to study how people use websites, or what they pay attention to while watching advertisements; how to run focus-groups and interviews to understand consumer decision making; how to build models to simulate the real-world as a way to do "what if" analyses.
POSITIVELY INFLUENCE BEHAVIOR
A broad understanding of human behavior, and deep toolbox of methods for studying people isn't enough – we want our students to go further by learning how to guide, influence and shape human behavior to have a positive impact. You'll learn practical, hands-on methods so you can go out in the world and make a difference. For example, you'll learn how to counsel and coach people; you'll learn about the exciting new world of behavior design and behavioral nudging; you'll learn how to run innovation workshops using brainstorming, design thinking and other techniques to bring out human creativity. And in your final year, you'll have the opportunity to orient your expertise in behavior to specific career paths such as consumer science & marketing, healthcare & health sciences, human resources & talent development, social work & community service, policy design & analysis, and energy & environment.
