The Importance of Data Management | Bootcamp Diary by Paula Claudio

And here we are, two weeks before the famous Demo Day. It is surprising how fast these weeks have passed but it’s even more extraordinary to think about how much I have learned.

Coming from an academic background in business administration and management, I’d already started to get to know how important data management is in my Business Analytics class at Loyola University in Chicago. But it was not until I started to work in a Spanish bank that I realized that I needed to be part of this world in order to get the most out of the huge amount of data available today.

We are already in Week 10 and everything is coming together. Every line of code, model and algorithm that we have learned in the past weeks is now organized in our heads and ready to be used in the outside world.

In the meantime, we keep working with McCann on predicting the customer lifetime value and the churn rate for a dairy supplier in Spain. The incoming Demo Day makes us feel both excited and stressed at the same time, as the classes are increasingly focused on preparing us for this event.

As time passes, I am even happier with my choice of enrolling in this Data Science Bootcamp at IE University and beyond excited to keep learning more.
