I SEE VALUE IN THE NEW TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES LEARNED AND HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THIS TRANSITION IN THE WORLD AS A WHOLE | BOOTCAMP DIARY BY KEM DIAZ

When I first heard about this program, I jumped at the chance to enroll, especially because I was looking for a way to align my skills and knowledge to the needs of the financial sector. Now that I’m halfway through the program, I can already see improvements in my ability to manage and analyze data—thanks to several months of coding, plotting, mathematical reasoning and teamwork.

I had already taught myself how to use Python before I started this program. However, I was able to consolidate my basic knowledge thanks to the Bootcamp professors. I built on this and learned new techniques with different Python libraries, as well as with SQL—all with the purpose of managing, cleaning and engineering databases. One aspect I found fascinating was data visualization, and how you can express large volumes of data in such an efficient way.

In addition to coding, I found the mathematics and statistics classes very interesting. I was able to learn more theoretical concepts that support the operation of the different learning models and Python functions, and I gained a better understanding of data through different metrics. Along with this, I became familiar with programming languages. I learned how to leverage these languages, and now I can fully understand the importance of data and its role in an increasingly digitized and decentralized economy.

Currently, I’m about to dive into the theory and practice of machine learning coding. My goal is to master the different models and, together with the knowledge I’ve acquired throughout the program, complete the main steps that are involved in a data science project nowadays. But this Bootcamp isn’t just about coding. Modules such as agile methodologies, storytelling and mindfulness ensure that we have a well-rounded learning experience.

The Bootcamp has turned out to be a great fit for me, and for my professional background in finance. Everything I’ve learned has helped me deal with data better, making my day-to-day work life more efficient. I’m now able to optimize my time and improve outcomes in different tasks. Witnessing these improvements first-hand has motivated me to continue learning about coding and data science. This technical knowledge is highly sought after, and I know it will boost my professional profile.

I definitely see an improvement in my skills. The new tools and techniques I’ve learned are invaluable, and now I have a much better understanding of the world around me. As we move into an increasingly digital society, it’s incredibly important to have skilled workers who can analyze large amounts of data, and harness it to make better decisions.

I found the Bootcamp to be a very beneficial experience. Although it’s been challenging at times, I know I made the right decision to enroll. Now I can continue my career with confidence, and go deeper into the world of coding, data and artificial intelligence.
