4. Week in the life of...
Customer Insights Consultant at an Agency/Consulting Firm
Monday
- You ‘ve scheduled the morning to do in-store shopper observations that your fashion client’s retail design team needs to identify pain points in the customer shopping experience and ways to add more ´wow´.
- In the afternoon you will visit a company that produces and sells sustainably sourced food products. They are a potential client, and you will go with colleagues from your agency’s Client Services team to pitch the company on why they should use your agencies customer insights services to better position their “green” offer to a better targeted segment of customers. You’ve done extensive background research on the company, it’s products and sales channels and even done a quick focus group to give you some preliminary data on customer perceptions of sustainable food that you can use to impress the potential client.
tuesday and Wednesday
- You have reserved to analyze survey data and focus group notes for a hospitality client that wants to go up-market and position itself as a more premium hotel.
- You will present your preliminary insights and recommendations to your Client Services Director in advance of the client meeting scheduled for next week.
Thursday
- You’ve scheduled a full day for a set of eye-tracking and web-UX sessions with customers of a Financial Services client that wants to redesign its online services to radically improve user/customer experience (UX/CX). The company’s NPS scores are very low relative to its competitors, and this is critical project for them.
Friday
- You are working from home with internal meetings in the morning for client reviews for each of your 4 current projects, and in the afternoon you plan to review some of the results form Thursday’s UX sessions.
