IE - Elecnor Observatory on Sustainable Compliance Cultures

Observatory

ABOUT THE OBSERVATORY

In late 2019, the IE Foundation and Elecnor Foundation agreed on the need to analyze the development and adoption of a culture of sustainable compliance in small and medium-sized companies in order to fully understand the reality of their challenges, study possible solutions, and disseminate the knowledge generated.

Through its work and studies, the Observatory wishes to provide society in general and the business world in particular—with special emphasis on medium-sized companies—with tools to improve the management of compliance by organizations. And to help promote the idea that it should always be carried out taking into account the ethical principles and expectations of the different stakeholders concerning social and environmental issues. We hope that this initiative may contribute, among other objectives, to progress in the fight against corruption in business, the defense of competition law, human and labor rights, and respect for the environment.

OBJECTIVES

To achieve our mission, we have set ourselves four clear objectives:

TO CAPTURE AND DEVELOP KNOWLEDGE

to help people understand the challenges faced by medium-sized companies in their implementation of a culture of sustainable compliance.

TO FACILITATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A CULTURE

to develop proposals that facilitate implementing a culture of sustainable compliance in medium-sized companies and companies with limited resources.

TO DISSEMINATE THE KNOWLEDGE

generated in order to promote the development of compliance in the corporate world beyond large corporations and multinationals, with a special emphasis on medium-sized companies.

TO FACILITATE UNDERSTANDING

and a common framework in terms of compliance when dealing with initiatives and collaborative projects between companies, especially in highly integrated value chains.
