Francisco Suárez

Grounded in a background in Electrical Engineering, Francisco developed an early aptitude for systems thinking and problem-solving that quickly evolved into a deep passion for software development. This led him to take on leadership roles at technology startups, where he contributed to building an e-commerce platform for the pet care market and a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) fintech solution aimed at broadening financial accessibility. These ventures cultivated strong fluency in innovation under constraint and the organizational dynamics of early-stage technology ventures.

Alongside his industry work, he has spent seven years teaching technology subjects (including programming and artificial intelligence) gaining a sustained appreciation for how education shapes the next generation of practitioners and innovators.

He is currently a Research Associate at the School of Science & Technology, IE University. In this role, he contributes to the Impact Xcelerator, exploring initiatives at the intersection of technology and real-world impact; supports instruction in Probability and Statistics for Management and Data Analysis within the Bachelor in Data and Business Analytics; and conducts research at the HPC & AI Lab, where his work focuses on agentic scientific workflows at the intersection of High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence.

His research interests center on the use of technology, data science, and AI to address meaningful problems in both academic and applied settings.
