Brief description

Blockchain technology and artificial intelligence are already a reality with impact and application in numerous sectors of the economy, forming part of the branch of law known as Digital Law. The technological digital platforms are also a cornerstone in the economy enabling the provision of innovative and disruptive services. Blockchain technology or also called Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is revolutionizing very specific areas such as, for example, identity through the digital identity systems, stock markets through the new market infrastructures based on DLT, and payment systems through digital currencies.

Artificial intelligence is going to suppose, for society as a whole, to face and respond to new challenges, both from a regulatory point of view, regulating the liability regime applicable to machines and devices that incorporate this technology, and from an angle social, trying to protect society against new phenomena such as decisions made by this type of device automatically and without the consent of the user based on subjective or biased data, or against unethical actions and behaviors, without forgetting the need to provide the population with new knowledge in order to enable them to face the new digital era and fill the new jobs that this technology is going to create to replace some existing ones. Finally, digital platforms constitute the mechanism for the provision of multiple technology based services.

Throughout the course we are going to cover those and other interesting topics.
