Brief description
This course will offer a critical introduction to cybersecurity and cyberlaw,focusing on the law governing the internet and information on the internet and contemporary challenges.
It will consider the debate about whether and how information technology influences the development of new legal doctrine. It will also discuss how the law has responded to the challenges of information technologies, and the extent to which legal issues have shaped the development of information society policy, through the lens of topics such as data protection, privacy, computer crime and digital rights.
Learning Objetives
•Understand the main concepts and definitions of cybersecurity;
•Learn to evaluate the roles of private actors and the State in cyberspace;
•Understand the ways in which the internet and the unprecedented access to information it provides are challenging and changing the ways we think about and govern ourselves;-
•Critically evaluate ongoing developments in law relating to information technologies;
•Examine areas of doctrinal and political debate surrounding rules and theories.
