Brief description

Intellectual property law and litigation.

Learning Objetives

This course is designed to provide students with the essential skills and competencies fundamental to the successful practice of intellectual property law in Europe with an emphasis on litigation.
­Moreover, the students at the end of it will be able to:
understand the purpose of trademarks, industrial designs, copyright, trade secrets, patents and what can and cannot be protected,
the intersection of IP rights with unfair competition
identify and use the statutory provisions governing scope of protection, infringement and validity, and
identify and use the main legal remedies available before the courts.
Overall, the student is expected to develop the ability to think critically and understand the thinking behind the statutory provisions.
