The article “Computing Sobol indices in probabilistic graphical models” written by Rafael Ballester-Ripoll and Manuele Leonelli has been published in Reliability Engineering & System Safety. The article shows how to apply Sobol’s method of global sensitivity analysis to measure the influence exerted by a set of nodes’ evidence on a quantity of interest expressed by a Bayesian network. The proposed algorithms are inspired by the field of tensor networks and generalise earlier tensor sensitivity techniques from the acyclic to the cyclic case. The methods are demonstrated in the areas of structural reliability and project risk management. The article can be found at https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0950705123002381.
