The IE Foundation runs initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education, fostering research, funding scholarship programs, promoting a giving back culture, and strengthening IE’s strategic values and their impact on society

Carlos Mas has been appointed executive Vice President of the IE Foundation, whose mission is to help global society and support IE employing its own resources and through collaboration agreements with strategic partners. The IE Foundation centers its activities on improving education standards, creating and managing research centers and projects, funding scholarship programs, promoting the culture of giving back, and fostering the strategic values of IE. Carlos Mas takes over from Rafael Puyol, currently President of IE University’s Board of Governors and Vice President for Institutional Relations at IE.

“Continuing with a brilliant trajectory, Carlos Mas is joining the IE Foundation at an exceptional time with the aim of following the pace of change of both our institution and society,” says Diego del Alcázar, President of IE Foundation.

Carlos Mas, who has served as Chairman and senior partner of PwC España and as a member of PwC’s Worldwide Board of Management, will head the rolling out of the Foundation’s new 2017-2020 strategic plan, which includes forging alliances and sponsorship agreements with leading firms and institutions. Other key elements of this new strategic phase include developing a giving back culture, which promotes funding and a commitment to the institution among alumni who received scholarships during their studies.

“This new strategic plan is designed to strengthen the IE Foundation in order to meet the challenges brought by uncertain times and transformation” says Carlos Mas, Executive Vice President of the IE Foundation. “What is needed right now is talent, leadership, and the right responses.”

The Foundation Works to further strengthen the strategic pillars of IE, recognized as being among the best educational institutions in the world and renowned for providing a learning ecosystem driven by technology, a global focus, an entrepreneurial approach, a commitment to the humanities, and academic excellence. The Foundation is also committed to transparency in terms of the management of its funds and resources, and to making an impact. One of IE Foundation’s top priorities under the leadership of Carlos Mas will be to create a research and networking space dedicated to family businesses that will serve as an international benchmark in the field.

The Foundation will have a markedly international management team for this new phase, including Tecla Keller Deputy Vice President, and Geoffroy Gérard as General Director, who bring to the team extensive experience in the field of strategic consulting, executive education, and communications.
