A group of 180 students from French university Sciences Po shared a range of academic activities with IE University students during winter sessions that the renowned French university ran in Spain at IE’s Santa Cruz de la Real campus in Segovia. This is the second time that IE University has hosted the winter sessions of the prestigious international political science center at its Segovia Campus.

The opening event was led by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at IE University, Antonio de Castro, and Director of the Bachelor of International Relations, Daniel Kselman, accompanied by the Director of the Euro-Latino-American Campus at Sciences Po’s Poitiers Campus, Tilman Turpin. The opening address was given by Daniel Kselman, also a professor of the IE School of International Relations, who spoke about democracy, development and populism in the 21st century.

After the conference Sciences Po students met with students from IE’s Bachelor in International Relations to participate in several workshops led by IE University professors. The workshops covered a wide range of topics, including: international aid, development, social business, globalization and the European Union, the rise of populism, the Syrian refugee crisis, and the past and present of Russia. These activities serve to further strengthen the excellent institutional ties and academic collaboration between both universities, who currently have an exchange agreement for both bachelor and master’s degree students.
