Dual Degree in Business Administration & Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence

During the first year, you will build a solid foundation in core business principles and the fundamentals of computer science. You will focus on key areas, from programming and the basics of data analytics and innovation, to the broader concepts of management, economics, applied business math and more. You’ll also become familiar with IE University’s core values of entrepreneurship, international collaboration and the humanities.

The second year will deepen your understanding of your learnings from year one, particularly in essential subjects such as algorithms, data structures and databases. You’ll also gain a firm grounding in finance, marketing and other elements designed to test your adeptness in a range of business settings. By the end of the year, you will start personalizing your academic journey to align your interests and strengths with your chosen career path.

You will build on the foundation established in the past two years by focusing on strategy, supply chain management and various AI-related topics. The business element of this dual degree program will be highlighted by a practical, cross-university challenge project in year three; it is devised to help students apply the business knowledge they have acquired so far, in conjunction with their computer science expertise, to solve a real-life issue.

In your fourth year, dive more in-depth into disruptive technologies such as fintech, the blockchain, automation and more. You’ll have a chance to further tailor your studies by selecting electives that suit your passions and career objectives. You can also choose to pursue an internship or spend a semester abroad at one of IE University’s prestigious partner institutions worldwide.

The fifth year will see you working on your capstone project—the culmination of your studies over the preceding four years. It’s an opportunity to carry out extensive research into a topic that interests you, which you will then use as a basis to write your final thesis which you will present to a panel of academics and professionals. You’ll also master the vital soft skills needed to thrive in multinational organizations.
