Our Center is dedicated primarily to supporting our IE students, faculty, staff, and alumni by providing learning opportunities and evidenced-based knowledge for discovery, and fostering ownership in developing the tools to excel in all aspects of their lives. We firmly believe that living and working well is not something that should be taken for granted, and that's why we offer a range of comprehensive initiatives to enhance well-being.
Being an undergraduate or graduate student is an exhilarating, life-changing experience that builds the foundations on which students will build their future. We support the holistic development at every stage of life, at IE and beyond, for personal flourishing and empowering connected and inclusive cultures for greater positive impact.
Yet our students, coming from around the globe to study at IE University in Madrid or Segovia, must successfully tackle many challenges to take full advantage of their university experience – for example, they need to rise to heavy academic demands, integrate socially in a diverse community, find an appropriate work/life balance, and learn to manage stress, ambiguity and change.
All Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD students take universal classes as part of their academic curriculum that serve as a foundation for understanding the basics of positive psychology and well-being. These classes are designed to empower students from the start of their programs, enabling them to cultivate a solid understanding of the principles and practices that contribute to personal and professional fulfillment. Furthermore, we provide extracurricular courses that dive deep into various elements of our holistic framework, covering the body, mind, and soul.
In addition to our educational offerings, we also provide regular events, workshops, retreats, and more to advance well-being education for our vibrant community. Through these sessions, participants can engage in dynamic discussions, gain practical insights, and learn from leading experts in the field. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that nurtures personal growth, resilience, and positive relationships. By equipping our community with practical, simple, and sustainable life skills, we empower them to thrive amidst the challenges they may encounter throughout their lives.
At the Center for Health & Well-being, our commitment to well-being extends beyond our internal community. We are dedicated to supporting well-being on a broader scale, both externally and internally, to create a positive impact as far and wide as possible. We believe that everyone deserves access to resources and support for their well-being, and we actively engage in initiatives that promote well-being beyond our immediate sphere.
To achieve this, we host events for the public, provide educational programs in collaboration with corporate partners, work with experts in the field, and more. Furthermore, we actively seek collaborations with external partners who share our passion for advancing well-being for all. We recognize that by working together, we can amplify our impact and create meaningful change on a larger scale.
