Macarena Rosado

General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors of IE University

Macarena Rosado is general counsel and secretary of the IE University Board of Directors and has an extensive professional career as an expert lawyer in corporate law. Reporting directly to the president, she is responsible for legal advice in all areas and in the design of the main policies and initiatives of the University. As a member of the Executive Committee and the Management Committee, she has been involved in the process of the University’s creation and expansion and in its main strategic decisions. She also serves as data protection officer, member of the Group's Diversity Committee and secretary of the IE Foundation Board of Trustees since its inception.

As an expert in corporate law, she has been the legal figure responsible for various reorganization and expansion operations of the IE Group, such as the acquisition of the old Colegio Jurídico law school, the launch of the University in Segovia and its center in Madrid and, more recently, the creation of Headspring, a joint venture with the Financial Times. In addition, she advises other groups of companies and is currently secretary of the board of Thomil, S.A.

She began her career as a legal advisor to the RENFE Wealth Directorate and went on to become the Corporate Legal Counsel.

She graduated with a law degree from CEU and holds a master’s degree from the Business Legal Advice program at IE Law School and another master’s degree from the Science (LLM) at Northwestern University.
