This will improve their accessibility to the population and could prevent millions of deaths in a world in which more than 1 billion people live with these conditions. On the other hand, the researcher warns that there are significant risks arising from improper use, and she argues that the focus should be on discouraging foods and beverages with excessive added sugars, promoting and legislating for healthier urban design, and addressing socioeconomic factors to curb the diabetes and obesity pandemic affecting the world.
