Madrid, November 22, 2022. This morning, the Fi Gathering Madrid took place at IE Tower. The event was co-organized by IE Foundation through the Impact Bridge-IE Chair in Social Entrepreneurship and Impact Investing and the IE Center for Families in Business, together with Social Nest Foundation.

The event was opened by Samir Selim, Head of Impact Investing at Social Nest Foundation, who welcomed the attendees and introduced the conference topic: Impact Investing and Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG); three main factors to assess the sustainability of investments.

Following this presentation, Dr. Rachida Justo, Director of the Impact Bridge-IE Chair in Social Entrepreneurship and Impact Investing gave a brief overview of the history and beginnings of sustainable investing and explained the differences between ESG and impact investing.

The conference included several interesting sessions featuring impact investing industry experts, such as Arturo Benito, the CEO of Impact Bridge Asset Management and Nathalie Nebelius of Toniic.

One of the Fi Gathering Madrid sessions featured a prestigious panel of speakers that included Dr. Cristina Cruz, the Academic Director of the IE Center for Families in Business. Dr. Cruz moderated the panel discussion entitled: “Walk the Talk: How Families Manage the Journey towards Impact” in which Iker Marcalde, the Founder and Executive Chairman of Zubi Group; Roberta Bosurgi, the CEO of EVPA; Omar Ynzenga, the Chairman of Borealis, and Claudia Coppenole, a Fellow in Residence at The ImPact discussed the role of business families in impact investing.

Finally, the event was brought to a close by Marta del Castillo, the CEO of Social Nest Foundation, who once again underscored the importance of strategic investment to generate positive social and environmental impact.
