An event hosted by the LawAhead Center on the Legal Profession.
IE Law School hosted a session on 25 November with Gabe Pereyra, Co-Founder and President of Harvey, in an event organized by the LawAhead Center on the Legal Profession.
Harvey, a generative AI platform tailored to the legal sector, is transforming how law firms and academic institutions approach research, training, and the delivery of legal services.
The conversation, held at the IE Tower, brought together leaders from major law firms and corporate legal departments to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping legal practice. Pereyra addressed the key challenges and opportunities facing the sector today—from data g
overnance and security to technological adoption, talent development, and the evolution of legal workflows.
He emphasized that generative AI will continue to accelerate in capability,
but will not replace the strategic insight, trust, and professional judgment that define high-level legal advice. “The best results come from humans using AI,” he noted.
Another central topic was the role of law schools in this new landscape. According to Pereyra, combining solid legal theory with practical experience and advanced tools will be essential to educating the next generation of professionals equipped to operate in hybrid environments.
This session forms part of AI and the Law, IE Law School’s initiative dedicated to examining the impact of artificial intelligence on the legal profession through education, research, and engagement with the global legal community.
