Strategy, coordination, and institutional affairs
Message from THE vice Rector
“At the Office of the Rector, we aim to establish true partnerships based on trust and shared objectives to have a global impact and generate positive change. We place the values of IE University at the core of everything we do, and that is why we seek to build partnerships that have a strong innovative component, promote diversity, and are aligned with sustainable objectives like the 2030 Agenda. This approach is the reason behind having the United Nations as one of our key and most valuable partners.”
Jaime, Vice Rector, IE University

Mission
The Vice Rectorate of Strategy, Coordination and Institutional Affairs plays a central, integrative role in advancing IE University’s strategic agenda and ensuring institutional coherence. Through cross-functional collaboration, it connects and coordinates vice rectorates, schools, and departments; drives high-priority institutional initiatives; builds and manages strategic partnerships; and ensures regulatory compliance and academic integrity. Together, these functions enable a more agile, ambitious, and strategically positioned university, fully aligned with IE Vision 2030.

What we do
Strategy and Development

The Strategy and Development team coordinates and implements IE University’s strategic institutional initiatives, working closely with top management across the full project lifecycle. Our work spans academic and geographic expansion — including the support to IE New York College — the adaptation of IE’s institutional framework to new strategic realities, and the exploration of new academic fields. Beyond strategic project management, we support critical decision-making processes, ensure that all efforts remain coherent and aligned with the University’s broader ambitions, and engage directly with schools and departments when specific initiatives carry institutional or strategic significance.
The Strategic Partnerships team builds and manages high-impact collaborations with global partners — including international organizations, public institutions, and leading private sector entities — that engage multiple areas of the IE community. Our work goes beyond the management of individual agreements: we develop the frameworks, governance structures, and evaluation mechanisms that ensure each partnership delivers lasting value. Current priorities include deepening engagement with multilateral organizations, expanding collaboration with the private sector, advancing IE’s presence in Asia, and leveraging artificial intelligence and emerging technologies for strategic intelligence. All of these efforts are guided by a single objective: strengthening IE’s mission, reputation, and global impact.

Registrar’s Office

The Registrar’s Office is the custodian of IE University’s academic records, ensuring their accuracy, confidentiality, and institutional integrity. We manage student enrolment, academic transcripts, degree certification, and the verification of academic credentials, and coordinate graduation processes in compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards. As a central point of contact for students, faculty, and external institutions, we are committed to delivering a high-quality, transparent, and reliable service — and to continuously improving the systems and processes that underpin it.
The Academic Affairs team oversees the accreditation of IE University’s academic programmes and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards, at both national and international level. We coordinate internal quality assurance processes, manage relationships with accreditation bodies, and monitor regulatory developments that may affect the institution. We also support academic units in maintaining and continuously improving their programme standards, ensuring that IE University’s degrees meet the requirements of the most demanding academic and professional benchmarks — and that our institutional licenses and authorisations remain fully up to date.
