3rd YEAR 

Spanish Law Track

 

*Starts in Fall Semester

 

For students who would like to acquire a solid foundation in legal Spanish concepts and terms, and eventually complete the MAB (master’s program to access the Spanish bar exam), IE Law School now offers the track in ‘Derecho de los negocios en España’. Together with the legal knowledge acquired through comparative law, this tailor-made track focuses on advanced concepts of Spanish law to provide the most complete training to access the Spanish labor market.

EU & International Law Challenge

 

Spring Semester

 

Wish you’d done things differently in the Roman Law Challenge? Well you’re in luck. Next year you will have another opportunity to compete against your fellow classmates in the EU & International Law Challenge. Students will divide into groups, and prepare and develop legal arguments based on case consisting of a hypothetical problem dealing with EU law and international law.

This challenge will test your knowledge of European Union Law, a fundamental law course in your 2nd year study plan. The winning categories include overall winning team, best written pleadings and best oralist.

Understanding PPLE Pathways: Strategy Consultant. Oxford Analytica

 

Semester: Spring

 

UNDERSTANDING PPLE PATHWAYS is a series of unified courses designed for PPLE students, aimed at guiding them through their career paths opportunities while connecting and applying the knowledge gained in the different fields of the PPLE program.

The courses are structured across years and semesters, with each course focusing on a specific professional sector. By combining comprehensive learning with real-world application, this unique format gives PPLE students with the necessary tools and experiences to pursue diverse career opportunities within the program.

 

In this Oxford Analytica challenge, we will examine the measures used by the EU to target disinformation, the divisions that subsequently emerged, and the circumvention techniques used by the sanctioned entities.

Participating students in the challenge will conduct desk-based research in small teams to provide the client, a public-sector institution, with timely and actionable analysis on the reach and impact of sanctions targeting actors of war propaganda.

Research With Professors

 

4th and 5th year Law students will have the opportunity to apply for Research Assistant positions in the upcoming academic year. Interested students will submit an application and indicate which research proposals are of interest to them. Professors will then select Research Assistants from the pool of candidates.

 

Selected students will:

 

  • Work closely with top faculty members
  • Expand their analytical thinking skills
  • Gain new insights into the field
  • Enhance their CV

Mentoring Program

 

This is a one-of-a-kind initiative that aims to promote collaboration between professional lawyers from top law firms and inspiring law students.

 

Through the Mentoring Program, your mentor’s knowledge, experience and expertise will prove to be of paramount importance and value to you. Mentors will decidedly have a lasting impact on you as you embark on your personal and professional ambitions and begin planning the next steps of your careers.

Capstone & Final Projects (TFG) – PPLE

 

The end of a student’s undergraduate journey presents a special opportunity to apply and integrate the knowledge they have acquired throughout their academic career. At IE Law School, students in their final year are required to elaborate a culminating project. There are two options for culminating projects: the Final Project & the Capstone Project. LLB students will present their final thesis in the second semester.

 

Students completing a Final Project will produce and present a research paper on a certain legal aspect or topic related to law. Students are required to work with an IE Professor who agrees to act as their supervisor.

 

Students completing a Capstone Project will identify a practical problem and use the knowledge and skills they have gained from their degree program to propose an actionable solution.
