IEU Code of Ethical Conduct

IEU Behavioral Guidelines and Conduct on Campus

IE University is committed to keeping you safe on campus. It is of the utmost importance that you collaborate with us to respect our facilities and the safety of others during your time here.

The following guidelines have been carefully created to reflect IE’s values of respect, integrity, and excellence. They outline the expectations we have for all members of our community regarding their conduct on campus and we believe that by adhering to these guidelines, we can continue to create a positive learning environment where all individuals can thrive academically. It is essential that we all play our part in upholding these standards and in promoting a culture of respect and understanding for IE university installations.

If you are found violating any of these rules, the Campus Security team reserves the right to approach you to record your name, program, email, and any other details they find relevant. Please also help us keep campus safe by reporting any incidents you see directly to Security.

For further information, check the Protocols for Addressing Code of Conduct Violations, Complaints, and Other Situations Requiring Special Attention on Campus.

Citation and Plagiarism

In an instructional setting, plagiarism occurs when a writer deliberately uses someone else’s language, ideas, or other original (not common-knowledge) material without acknowledging its source. Students must refrain from plagiarism, defined as the dishonest and unethical practice of presenting someone else’s ideas or words as if they were one’s own. The only way to avoid plagiarism is to properly cite and credit all your sources.

You can also have a look at the following document on Plagiarism for a better understanding.

“The IE Community is dedicated to the promotion of ethics and integrity in the world of business. Professional ethics and integrity therefore form the very core of this Community. Fairness, honesty, and respect for others are not just virtues; they are what each member of the IE Community can rightly expect from their peers. As a community of students, professors, management staff, and alumni, we are defined by a core set of values and goals, [such as] to act fairly, honestly, and with respect for others; to create and maintain an environment for the free exchange of ideas; to celebrate diversity and global understanding; to respect academic freedom in the classroom and to uphold academic honesty and integrity.”
