Specialized in strategy, Professor Joaquín Garralda has spent over two decades studying the internal culture of business organizations and  strategic analysis. This background has led him in recent years to the area of corporate social responsibility. In his own words: “I study CSR from a strategic perspective. I analyse how to introduce it into business culture and how to evaluate its performance for investment decision purposes.”

At present Professor Garralda is The UN Global Compact's Spanish Association Secretary, since 2000, he has been a member of the Ethics Committee of Morgan Stanley’s Ethics Fund (at present Invercaixa), and he is involved in the development of manuals that permit the measurement and evaluation of CSR. His concern for business ethics goes back to 1992 when he designed and implemented the first course of business ethics at Instituto de Empresa. He is currently a patron of Fundación Lealtad, where he analyses criteria  for transparency in the management of not-for-profit organizations.

Joaquín holds a degree in Economic Sciences from Universidad Complutense Madrid, an MBA from IE and the ITP form London Business School. He has combined his teaching career with intense professional activity as a consultant in the fields of organisation and strategy in diverse companies, as a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and member of several managerial boards. “Now, I basically advise companies on issues of social responsibility”.

Joaquín Garralda contributes regularly to leading media agents in the field of economics in Spain and Latin America, and also speaks at major forums and conferences.
