At the Center for Health and Well-being, we produce research reports that provide evidence-based insights into the health, well-being, and lived experiences of our student community. These reports support institutional decision-making and contribute to the development of inclusive, data-informed policies at IE University.

The Universality of Meditation report

In December 2025, the Center for Health & Well-being at IE University collaborated with the United Nations Human Rights Office (OHCHR) on the design and production of The Universality of Meditation report, released for the first World Meditation Day on 21 December.

The report offers a comprehensive look at how meditation and contemplative practices have been present within the United Nations over time, while also highlighting their growing relevance across sectors such as health, education, and public policy. It reflects an evolving understanding: that the ability to regulate attention, manage stress, and cultivate clarity is not only personal, but increasingly essential in complex professional and global contexts.
For the Center, contributing to this initiative is closely aligned with our work. We see well-being not as an individual add-on, but as a foundation for learning, leadership, and decision-making. Supporting the development of this report was an opportunity to bring together science, practice, and global dialogue, and to contribute to a broader conversation on how human skills such as focus, emotional regulation, and perspective can be strengthened at scale.
