IE Foundation Announces Prizes in the Humanities 2020 Winners
The awards ceremony will be held in September with an online event broadcast from WOW Room.
The IE Foundation has announced the winners of the Prizes in the Humanities 2020 in the categories of poetry, short story and short essay in Spanish and English, video and photography. In this 5th edition of the awards, more than 300 students, graduates, and faculty and staff members have submitted over 700 works in the five categories. Among the members of the jury of this edition are writers and journalists such as Namita Gokhale, Tom Burns, Bieito Rubido and Carlos de Vega, among other personalities from the field of the Humanities. The awards ceremony will be held virtually from the WOW Room in September.
The IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities celebrate the humanistic visión of students, graduates and staff at IE University, their critical thinking, the ability to find another voice and to take a different look at reality. The IE Arts & Humanities Division, as a center specialized in research and teaching in thisfield, hosts these awards to promote a visión of theworld of the Humanities, central to the identity of the academic institution.

The Digital DNA Scholarships Program, created by IE Foundation and Santander Bank, wraps its first edition up with a very positive impact
The first edition of the Santander IE Digital DNA program, from which 100 young people from 14 countries have benefited, was just completed.
On July 2019, Santander Bank and IE –through an agreement between Santander Universidades and IE Foundation-, launched a new scholarships program aimed at university students and young professionals from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, UK, Uruguay and the US; with the goal of offering them training in digital transformation, new technologies and innovation, in order to boost their employability.
Thanks to this initiative, 100 young people have had the chance to take the Santander IE Digital DNA Program, from November 2019 to February 2020, which consisted in two High Impact Online Journeys (HIOPs), “New Technologies for Innovation” and “Data Science and Visualization for Business”, offered in Spanish and English. These students, of which 35% are women, have not only received 100% online training and materials, but also attended life online conferences and discussions in forums about big data, analysis, artificial intelligence or customer centricity.
