IE University Launches Career Portal provider 12Twenty as Central Career Platform for Students
IE Talent & Careers rolls out 12Twenty to centralize job access, data, and career engagement amid a shifting early-career job market.
IE University has launched 12Twenty in September to all students and graduates, introducing a new career platform that will replace Symplicity and serve as the primary system for students to access job opportunities, connect and key career resources as sector insights, IE salary benchmarks etc.
After the launch in September, there has been several months of internal preparation across IE Talent & Careers, including platform configuration, data migration, and internal enablement sessions focused on adoption, new platform capabilities, and evolving employment trends impacting early-career outcomes.
A centralized approach to career access
12Twenty is designed to be a centralized career hub; this allows students to apply as well as search for different opportunities, track activity, and engage with employers, advisors, and events through one single system. Going forward, all career-related information will be accessed and saved solely in 12Twenty, making this shift improve the consistency and efficiency of the platform, supporting a smoother experience for both students and staff.
"The launch of 12Twenty represents a strategic step forward in how we support student employability, building a more connected, data-driven, and future-ready career ecosystem that delivers value at scale," said Enrique Peñalba, one of the members of the leadership team from T&C.
Transition timeline, students and alumni
All current students and new onboarded to IE since September onwards have access to 12twenty, new students have access this platform solely, and previous current students will stop to have access to their old provider by the end of January. Alumni rollouts will start later this year in an escalated approach.
"12Twenty is a key enabler of our advising philosophy: it allows us to integrate AI into career advising, ensure better follow-up, and build a holistic view of each student. At the same time, it empowers students with a clear overview of the market, companies, and salary ranges, while giving them ownership of their profile and career data, enhancing both advising quality and the student experience," said Gisela Martin, T&C Director for MIM Program.
Responding to a changing job market
The rollout of 12Twenty introduces several operational and advising improvements for both students and staff. The platform features built-in video advising and AI-supported notes that streamline student–advisor interactions, with 40% of advising sessions now conducted directly through the platform. The platform includes AI-supported notes, a redesigned user interface, improved data accuracy, faster reporting, and new tools to better track employer relationships and recruiter insights.
"The Career Portal is designed to evolve through a structured, phased approach. This allows us to introduce improvements thoughtfully, maintain platform stability, and continuously enhance the experience for students, alumni, and employers," said Lynn Yates Cassan, lead of the platform and implementation.
These updates come as early-career hiring continues to shift. Employment at graduation has declined since 2020, while internship-to-full-time conversion has become the primary hiring pathway and employers grow more selective, prioritizing productivity, AI-enabled roles, and clearer skills alignment. Despite this, salaries continue to rise, underscoring demand for talent in fewer, more specialized roles. In this context, IE Talent & Careers has emphasized the importance of using career data not only to report outcomes, but to provide clearer guidance for students navigating a more complex job market.
IE Talent & Careers emphasized the importance of not only collecting outcome data, but also contextualizing it, using insights to guide students more proactively through an increasingly complex job market.
"The Career Portal (12Twenty) elevates our advising model by integrating AI, improving tracking, and offering a 360º view of the student. It also empowers students with market intelligence, company insights, salary ranges, and full control over their career profile, significantly enhancing the overall user experience," said Gisela Martin, T&C Director for MIM Program.
Student experience and next steps
For students, 12Twenty will serve as the main platform for accessing job opportunities, career resources, and employer engagement tools, making career resources easier to access throughout their academic journey.
"I really appreciated how easy 12Twenty is to use and how clearly it structures the job search process. The advanced search filters and job alerts save a lot of time, and the employer statistics on previous student placements are extremely helpful. Being able to book sessions directly with career advisors adds clarity and confidence to the whole experience.," said Maryna Kurylina, Bachelor Business Administration Graduate 2026.
Looking ahead, Talent & Careers will expand the capabilities of the platform by adding more features such as deeper integration with job matching tools, enhanced reporting, and stronger employer engagement features, which aligns with IE’s commitment to aligning education with real-world career outcomes.
