Students of IE’s Master in Finance achieve No. 2 position in online game run by BNP Paribas
A team of students from IE Business School’s Master in Finance have achieved the No. 2 position worldwide in the BNP Paribas’s “Ace Manager” online game.

Over 20,000 students from 107 countries took part in the competition, which required entrants to solve practical case studies focused on finance and linked to three key areas of activity of the BNP Paribas group, namely corporate and investment banking, asset management, and retail banking.

The IE Business School team, Yanxi Pu (China), Viacheslav Matskov (Ukraine), and Andrey Babynin (Russia), received a prize of €3,000 euros plus tickets for tennis events. The winners of this year’s edition were a team from Hong Kong University, while a team from Peking University secured the No. 3 position, for which the prizes were €6,000 and €1,500 respectively, plus tickets for tennis events.

The finals of the competition, which came after previous phases held between April and June, were held simultaneously in BNP Paribas offices in Madrid, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Russia. The President of BNP Paribas in Spain, Ramiro Mato, explained that the initiative was designed to bring further impetus to the financial education of young people. “We are delighted to see students from IE Business School among the best in the world for the second consecutive year.”

Ignacio de la Torre, Director of Master in Finance programs at IE Business School talked about how the basis for success is a program that interrelates the market with the world of business. “IE’s Master in Finance is considered the best in the world by Financial Careers and No. 4 worldwide by Financial Times. Achievements like the recognition of our students in BNP Paribas’s “Ace Manager” competition serve to evidence the quality of our students, our faculty, and the academic design of our program.”

The seventh edition of the “Ace Manager” competition was designed by experts from BNP Paribas. The initiative, which forms part of the group’s policy of increasing its visibility among students, aims to help achieve the group’s objective of becoming one of the most attractive career choices among young talent around the world.
