Borja Santos is an expert in public policy, global affairs, and sustainable development. He currently serves as Associate Dean and Professor at the School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs at IE University.
With over 20 years of international experience, Borja has led the design, implementation, and evaluation of public policies and programs across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia. He has worked with five international organizations (World Bank, IDB, UNDP, WFP, and FAO), the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Harvard Center for International Development, gaining deep insight into the multilateral system and global policy landscape.
He holds an MPA in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School (with “La Caixa” Fellowship), a Master’s in International Relations, and a BEng + MEng in Telecommunications Engineering. He is a PhD candidate at the UCM. He also completed his piano studies at the Valladolid Professional Conservatory of Music.
Borja is committed to social impact. He is an Acumen Fellow, president of the Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Association in Spain, and a mentor to international talent through IMFAHE. He also serves on advisory boards of several institutions.
Borja is a regular contributor of articles and policy briefs to outlets such as El País, The Conversation, Política Exterior, the Elcano Royal Institute, and Harvard Kennedy School News, among others.
