What are the suggested scores for the entrance exams required for admission?

As part of your application to the Master in Finance program, you have to take one of four entrance exams. You can choose between the GRE, GMAT Focus Edition, CFA level I, or CAIA level I.

Should you opt to take the GMAT Focus Edition, we recommend a score of 605-755. As for the GRE, we recommend a score of 322-340.

What can I do to make my application more competitive?

Our top tip here is that it’s a good idea to not only reflect your academic and professional experience but also focus on how else you can add value to the Master in Finance and the IE Community at large.

Further, your letter of motivation and personal interview should showcase elements that your online application doesn’t cover. We want to understand why you wish to join the program and see your passions and personality mirrored in your application.

Can I submit my entrance exam after submitting my online application?

Yes, you can submit the entrance exam or any other exam results, including the English certificate, after submitting your online application.

What if I have no full-time work experience? Is having completed internships enough?

Possessing experience across the various sub-sectors of finance will stand you in very good stead. This helps give you a broader view of what the world of finance has to offer.

The Master in Finance is known as a ‘pre-experience’ program, meaning we don’t require any prior professional experience. That said, undertaking finance-related internships will be advantageous.

Even if you are still determining which area of finance best suits you before coming, the introductory Start Module and the core period help deliver a comprehensive overview of the field. This knowledge will allow you to make an informed decision on your specialization before you pick your electives.

Do the job opportunities related to the Master in Finance only apply to Spain?

Around 60% of the job offers from our program are located throughout Europe, while the remaining 40% are based in Spain. IE Talent & Careers is ready to help you find the right career opportunity for your profile.

There are also more courses to explore in April, with Investment Banking, Private Equity and Real Estate being included in the core period.
