Eoin Phillips

Eoin Phillips is an historian of science and economics, with a particular interest in the intersection between technology, business and society, from 1770 to the current day. He completed his PhD at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge in 2015, where his research explored the attempt by the British state to find a solution for calculating longitude at sea – one of the major technological problems of the age. He has since held postdoctoral and lectureship positions at the University of Cambridge, Ruskin College, Oxford and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
