Diogo Machado


Diogo Machado is an economist and policy analyst at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), working as part of OECD’s Young Professionals Programme conducting economic policy research in science, innovation and regional¬†Development.

During his career he has been advising public and private decision makers in the area of science funding, knowledge transfer, innovation for sustainability and digital transformation, and conducting academic research in business economics.

Prior to the OECD, he worked as an economic researcher at the Department of Economics and Political Science in the area of Business Economics at the Institut Europ√©en d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD). He has also been an economic researcher at the University of Toronto School of Public Policy and Governance, in Bruegel and in Nova School of Business and Economics.

He holds a PhD in Business and Managerial Economics from the University of Lovain, an MBA from the Catholic University of Louvain and a Msc in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics.
