Jimena Valdez


Jimena Valdez is a PhD Candidate in Government, at Cornell University. Her interests include comparative politics, political economy and advanced capitalism. In the 2017-2018 academic year, she conducted fieldwork in Spain and Portugal for her dissertation that examines the recent labor reforms in these two countries, following the 2008 financial crisis. She is also currently working in a project that compares the adaptation of gig-economy firms to different national regulations across the US and Europe.

Jimena holds a BA in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, an MA in Political Science from Torcuato Di Tella University and an MA in Government from Cornell University.
