IE University and The Garage are thrilled to announce IE Deep Tech Venture Day Saudi Arabia, a highly anticipated startup competition taking place in Riyadh on May 24th, 2023. This event is specifically designed to showcase the latest and greatest in Deep Tech, and to celebrate the impressive advancements that have been made in Saudi Arabia. In addition to a startup competition, it will host key players in the Saudi Arabian ecosystem, hearing from prominent guest speakers to guest panels.

Saudi Arabia has become a strong region in tech due to its strong ecosystem of investors, accelerators, and government support. From artificial intelligence and robotics to blockchain and biotech, the Kingdom is home to a vibrant and rapidly growing tech ecosystem. Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 plans to boost the country's technology and innovation sector, making it an attractive destination for tech startups.

The competition is open to Pre-seed to Pre-Series A startups in various deep tech fields, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, and more. Startups will have the chance to pitch their ideas to a panel of investors, experts, business pioneers and representatives of key industries.

In the coming months, we will select 5 start-ups based on their originality, financial viability, and ability to have a positive impact on deep tech and throughout Saudi Arabia. We encourage all eligible startups to apply and take advantage of this exciting opportunity to gain valuable feedback and compete for top prizes.

Any Deep Tech Startup in Saudi Arabia

Criteria to apply

What are we looking for: We are interested in supporting inclusive innovators and start-ups that are using digital technology to solve important challenges faced by public and private businesses in a wide range of areas and scales.

Who can participate?

The startups participating in the competition must meet the following criteria:

Constituted or being constituted startup
Innovation: product/service, business model, and/or route to market
Scalability: international commercial potential and scalable business model
Team: relevant skills and experience mix
Market: clear and large market opportunity
Startups in the following funding stages: Angel, Pre-seed, Seed, Series A

For 2022-23 Venture Days, the Winner of each Venture Day will receive:

Immediate Qualification for South Summit Semi-Finals & Full Pass to the Event (Access to the investor Den, conferences in all stages, one on one meetings and matchmaking service with investors and big corporations, etc).

The Finalists that pitch in IE Venture Day Final will also receive:

Full Pass to the South Summit (Access to the Investor Den, conferences in all stages, one on one meetings and matchmaking service with investors and big corporations, etc).
