As a result of the Foundation’s work, IE has been able to attract promising young students, propel its academic status, and appeal to highly recognized educators.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Thanks to agreements with various institutions around the world, in 2010 the IE Foundation awarded scholarships of over 5 million euros.

  • For Students

    Did you know that in 2011 the IE Foundation gave grants to more than 700 students? Scholarships given by the IE Foundation cover topics like finance, international development, and leadership among others. Additionally, the IE Foundation devotes part of its resources to family support.

    Research activities conducted by IE´s faculty acquire outstanding importance given our commitment to innovation. For this reason, the IE Foundation offers support for the development of the faculty's work by supporting proposals and activities that contribute to corporate development.

Applied research

IE is a research-oriented institution. Our faculty consists of both academics involved in research and practitioners with many years of experience. From IE Foundation, we carry out the following applied research projects:

  • Centers

    IE centers generate knowledge and translate it into applied research. We deliver pioneering research generated by the collaboration between IE´s Faculty, research interns, and partner organizations. Topics range from human resources to negotiation and corporate governance.

  • Chairs

    Our chairs are research and dissemination of knowledge in areas of leadership, ethics and communication among others. One of the requirements to create a chair at IE is that it must have a clear applicability and be supported by sponsors.

    Projects include the research and dissemination of knowledge, the duration of which will depend on the respective information. It is largely focused on private companies and/or ministries.

Cultural outreach

We dedicate a significant portion of the IE Foundation funds to support different areas and activities both in and outside IE, such as sponsorships, publications, and improvements to IE's library.

  • Library

    The IE Foundation invests in the improvement of the library’s facilities, as well as digital resources and journals. The Library is made up by two parts: an online section offering access to the main databases; and a physical section containing books and subscriptions to the most prestigious journals.

    Alongside the Alumni Association, the IE Foundation publishes the IDEAS magazine, a platform to broadcast, among other practices, business excellence and entrepreneurship.

    The IE Foundation supports institutions, both external and internal, by promoting their activities. Among these institutions are: Financieros Sin Fronteras, European Foundation Center(AISBL), Real College Harvard, and the Foundation Center.

Our History

IE Foundation was established in 1997 by IE Business School Founder, Diego del Alcázar. He promoted the Foundation to: "Take whatever action may result from efficiency to contribute to business development, in particular, to benefit the least advantaged sectors of the population by promoting the incorporation of young people in the business".
