On September 9 at 17h00 (CEST), Oscar Jonsson, Academic Director of the Center for the Governance of Change, will be discussing the role of Russian cyber-attacks, information warfare and other non-military means at the USA Joint Special Operations University.

During the last decade, Russian military and political elites have struggled to grasp how technological innovation has influenced conflict and war. This has led to an increasingly popular notion that non-military means of war – information warfare, cyber-attacks and political subversion – are becoming more important than physical violence. In his latest book, The Russian Understanding of War: Blurring the Lines between War and Peace, Oscar Jonsson investigates the evolution of Russian military and political thought and how Russia's current thinking about war is reflected in recent crises.
