This report, a collaboration between Fundación Carolina and IE University’s Global Policy Center, explores the evolving geopolitical landscape and its implications for EU–Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) relations. In light of recent global disruptions—from the COVID-19 pandemic to renewed great power competition and the war in Ukraine—the report argues that the EU and LAC, with their deep historical ties and shared values, are well-positioned to revitalize their partnership. By leveraging existing trade, political, and cooperation agreements, both regions can play a strategic role in advancing inclusive digital, ecological, and socioeconomic transitions. The report calls for renewed dialogue and trust-based cooperation to meet the ambitions of the 2030 Agenda and deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals.
