2019 IE Foundation Annual Report
2019 ANNUAL REPORT
2019 was an exciting year of impact at IE Foundation, under the leadership of Carlos Mas Ivars and before the new management team led by Gonzalo Garland. For another year, we have achieved new levels of participation, commitment, excellence and creativity. We’ve done so by pursuing the greatest impact and benefit for people within and outside our global community while always working closely with our strategic partners.
Empowering the best talent:
Talent development initiatives grew exponentially in 2019, through the Foundation’s Annual Scholarships Fund, through its new scholarship programs with Santander Universidades – thanks to the Santander IE Digital DNA Program – and through a new pledge of 2 million euros by Kistefos AS and its founder to empower leading candidates from Norway and from some countries in Africa. Together with IE University, IE Foundation awarded more than € 18,000,000 in scholarships to Undergraduate and Master students from 102 different nationalities.
Knowledge generation and impact with strategic partners:
The year 2019 was characterized by important collaborative initiatives of impact such as the Second Edition of the Mapfre Foundation Awards for Social Innovation or the Digital Transformation Inclusive Business Development project developed with the JP Morgan Chase Foundation. The study “The Botin Center: development of social creativity through the arts”; the new Compliance Observatory with Elecnor Foundation and the IE Law School; the research on the relationship between management styles and the “entrepreneurial spirit” with Coca Cola European Partners or the launch of the IE Africa Center and IE China Center were other key milestones of the year.
Driving IE values and its social impact:
IE Foundation also supported and participated in multiple academic and social initiatives designed to inspire positive change and support the values of IE on both local and international scale, such as the IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities, LGBT@Work, South Summit & EnlightED, the sponsorship of “Financieros sin Fronteras” or the XIV edition of the Hay Festival Segovia.
We are aware that all the initiatives, actions and achievements wouldn’t be possible without the consistent support of our donors: students, alumni, parents, partners, faculty and staff. Thanks to them, we can make a more significant impact on our community and the world.
We invite you to discover all the initiatives and projects we developed and set in motion during 2019.
