IE University and Queen Sofía Spanish Institute Launch Scholarship to Strengthen U.S.–Spain Cultural Ties
The scholarship, launched on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, will be available for the 2026–2027 academic year.
IE School of Humanities, through IE Foundation, in collaboration with the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute (QSSI), has announced the creation of the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute - IE Foundation Scholarship for Bachelor in Humanities. The initiative supports U.S. students and residents who are passionate about exploring the cultural and historical connections between Spain, the Spanish-speaking world, and the United States.
The scholarship, launched on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and part of the America&Spain250 initiative, will be available starting from the 2026–2027 academic year. It offers 50% tuition coverage for the duration of the degree for outstanding candidates applying to the Bachelor in Humanities or the Dual Degree in Business Administration & Humanities at IE School of Humanities.
The program was officially unveiled at the II America&Spain250 Symposium in Washington D.C., where IE University Professor Manuel Lucena participated in a panel on Spain’s Contributions to the American Revolution.
"Through this scholarship, we aim to honor the shared history of Spain and the United States while fostering the next generation of leaders in the humanities", said Catalina Tejero, Dean of IE School of Humanities.
