In its first report, JOIN4IMPACT brings together the perspectives of key players in the sector: non-profit organizations, companies, experts, and consultants.

The Join4Impact Observatory, an initiative led by IE Foundation, Inuit Fundación, and Facephi, presented its first report, “Technological Innovation and Social Impact Measurement: From Challenge to Opportunity”, during an event held at IE Tower. This study analyzes the challenges, opportunities, needs, and solutions that technology offers to optimize social impact measurement processes, setting a precedent for future research and promoting more effective, inclusive, and scalable practices.

The report highlights how high costs, and limited resources represent significant barriers for many organizations, especially non-profit entities. Additional challenges identified include a lack of training in digital skills, cultural resistance to change, and the limited accessibility of technological tools. However, the report also underscores the opportunities that technology provides, such as automation and efficiency in processes, improved data quality, and the promotion of collaboration and scalability of effective practices.

Gonzalo Garland, Executive Vice President of IE Foundation, stated: “Join4Impact reaffirms IE Foundation’s commitment to research and social innovation in addressing today’s challenges within a rapidly evolving technological landscape.”

Meanwhile, Concepción Galdón, Director of the Center for Social Innovation and Sustainability at IE Foundation, highlighted the strong shared commitment of IE Foundation, Inuit Fundación, and Facephi, as well as their firm belief that combining capabilities will make a real difference with a clear focus on social impact.

The report’s presentation was delivered by Eugenia Gutiérrez, Associate Director for Data and Impact Measurement at IE University, and Olmo Mateo, Director of Social Impact Measurement at Inuit Fundación. The event also featured interventions from Javier Mira, CEO of Facephi; Santiago Aranguren, President of the Inuit Fundación Board of Trustees; and Angélica Rodríguez-López, Founding Partner of Inuit Fundación.

Despite significant challenges, the report concludes that technology has the potential to revolutionize social impact measurement. With accessible tools and adequate training, it is possible to transform how organizations measure and manage their impact, ensuring greater efficiency in their social interventions.
