It used to be relatively simple to calculate the value of traditional businesses. But how do you go about measuring the value of a digital business? It’s not that easy to decide whether an idea will attract a million users, whether the brand will take hold and whether the business model is sturdy enough to generate income and survive. Francisco J. López Lubián is a Professor and Head of the Finance Department at IE Business School. He co-authored the book ‘Value in a Digital World. How to Assess Business Models and Measure Value in a Digital World’, with José Esteves, Professor of Information Systems at IE Business School.
