The AI Awards were launched last year to celebrate members of the IE Community who are leveraging AI to enhance the impact of their departments and the institution as a whole. The aim of the awards is to encourage and share innovative uses of emerging technology.

Patricia de Morales Setién and Christine Antoine were this year’s recipients of the award. Patricia is the Executive Director of Student Experience at IE School of Science & Technology, and Christine is the manager of global admissions & enrollment for Executive MBAs.

IE University CEO Diego Del Alcázar Benjumea commented on the importance of being flexible in response to new technologies. "As AI evolves rapidly, rigid strategies quickly become outdated. What matters most is the ability to implement, experiment and adapt in real time."

Earlier in the day, representatives from IE University also attended the Microsoft AI Tour, held at Kinépolis Madrid Ciudad de la Imagen. The event aims to help organizations learn the full potential of AI as a tool for organizational transformation, with a focus on practical implementation, business value and ethical considerations.

Keynote speaker Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft, highlighted both the challenges and the transformative impact of AI on industries and organizations.

The AI Awards reflect IE University’s ongoing commitment to supporting innovation and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence across its academic and operational activities. They are one of a range of events and initiatives held across the institution that celebrate the achievements and potential of students, staff and faculty in relation to AI.
