About me

I’m Patricio Garrido Lecca. I come from Peru, but now I’m working as a Senior Real Estate Manager for Adidas in Colombia. I’m an architect and have an MBA as well. I decided to pursue the Global Master in Real Estate Development because I wanted to gain a holistic view of real-estate markets all around the world.

"The program gives a holistic view of different real-estate markets all around the world."

Patricio Garrido Lecca

Patricio embarked on the Global Master in Real Estate Development because the blended, part-time structure meant that he would be able to continue his work as a Senior Real Estate Manager with Adidas while boosting his knowledge and skills of the industry.

One of the most important elements of the program for Patricio is the study trips built into the academic terms. These study trips form an integral part of the program and include immersive experiences in Madrid, Mexico City, and London. These trips also offer opportunities to build relationships with classmates face-to-face and become intimately familiar with the vastly different real-estate contexts of each city.

Specifically speaking about his experience in Mexico City, Patricio says he learned a lot. He explains that the trip has given him a chance to gain familiarity with the city’s real-estate landscape through encounters with projects and their development from the ground up. As he notes, Mexico is one of the most important markets in Latin America and has totally different dynamics to Europe. Thus, this experience offers unique insight that contributes to the globalized outlook that Global Master in Real Estate Development gives students.

The study trips provided a hands-on, social experience as well as a chance to network and grow. When evaluating master’s programs, this element was just as important as the academic and professional experiences in the degree.

“It’s a very important life experience aimed toward academic and professional growth.”

In a similar vein, the global emphasis of the program, embodied both in the coursework and in the diversity of the faculty and students, means that Patricio and his peers gain a holistic view of real-estate markets all around the world. For Patricio, this global understanding of the real-estate business will be key to his success in his day-to-day job and his long-term career goals.
